During World War II, thousands of people came to work at Marietta’s Bell Bomber plant, Air Force Plant No. 6, where 663 B-29 Superfortresses were built and delivered for the war effort. The massive operation helped transform Marietta from a small Georgia town into a growing center of industry and aviation, beginning a legacy that can still be seen today.
